Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Jot ("the app", "we", "us"), operated by an individual developer, Xiuxuan Wang. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Jot. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. Your account
You sign in through Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for all activity under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- upload content you do not have the right to share;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data;
- misuse the service in a way that harms us or other users.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the notes, recordings, and other content you create in Jot. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you (including transcription and AI parsing as described in our Privacy Policy).
5. Our intellectual property
The app itself — its software, design, and branding — belongs to us. These Terms do not grant you any rights to it beyond using the app as intended.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Paid features are offered as subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment, renewal, and cancellation are handled by those stores under their terms. Refunds are subject to the applicable store's refund policy.
7. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcripts and AI-generated results will be accurate.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app.
9. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required to protect the service or other users.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
